The Zurbarán will reopen its doors in “FoQ: la nueva generación,” a new Atresplayer series

After the premiere of “Física o Química” in February 2008, the series marked a turning point in Spanish television fiction. The Boomerang TV drama closely and boldly portrayed, without holding back, what many young people were thinking, allowing them to see themselves reflected in its stories and characters, which made it a true reference point from its television debut.

“Física o Química” premiered on Antena 3 on February 4, 2008, with great audience success: more than 3.6 million viewers (20.9% share) watched the first episode and the opening of the Zurbarán school doors. The fame of its characters and the strength of its storylines helped the series gain even more followers, reaching nearly 4 million viewers by the end of its second season. With 77 episodes and seven seasons, “Física o Química” ended in June 2011, confirming itself as one of the major fiction successes of recent years.

“Física o Química” returned almost 10 years later with “FoQ: El reencuentro,” which premiered in December 2020. Now its story comes back to life in “FoQ: La nueva generación” on Atresplayer.

After the fire that destroyed the old school more than 10 years ago, the new Zurbarán reopens its doors and must form a special class. Students from different schools—public, private, and semi-private—end up in this new class unexpectedly and without knowing any of their classmates. All of them, students and teachers alike, arrive in a very different environment where they must start from scratch.

“FoQ: La nueva generación” is a production of Atresmedia TV together with Boomerang TV. Montse García and Jorge Pezzi are the executive producers of the project.
