Spain

GENERAL TAX REBATE IN SPAIN

  • 30% deduction: for the first one million euros
  • 25% deduction: over remaining qualifying expenses
  • Minimum expenditure in Spain: 1 million euros
  • For animation and postproduction – VFX: 200,000€
  • Maximum deduction base limit: 39,800,000€
  • Maximum total deduction: 10,000,000€


 

Canary Islands

TAX REBATE IN THE CANARY ISLANDS

  • 54% deduction: for the first one million euros
  • 45% deduction: over remaining qualifying expenses
  • Minimum expenditure in the Canary Islands: 1 million euros
  • For animation and postproduction – VFX: 200,000€
  • Maximum deduction base limit 39,888,888 €
  • Maximum total deduction: 18,000,000 €

Navarre

TAX REBATE IN NAVARRE

  • The incentive amounts to 35% with a mixed rebate scheme that factors in corporate income tax plus the tax credit.

Vizcaya

TAX REBATE IN VIZCAYA

  • 60% deduction if more than 50% of expenditure is in Vizcaya.
  • 50% deduction if between 35% and 50% of expenditure is in Vizcaya.
  • 40% deduction if between 20% and 35% of expenditure is in Vizcaya.
  • 35% deduction in all other cases.

 

This deduction applies to all film, television and new digital format productions with proven cultural value, regardless of nationality. This includes feature, short film and other audiovisual productions, including animation and documentary series. The applicable deduction will range between 35% and 60% depending on the percentage of expenditures and investments made in Vizcaya, with an additional 10% allotted for works filmed entirely in Basque. This means the maximum deduction is 70%.
