“Love Island” will very soon premiere its second season on Neox. This edition will once again be hosted by Cristina Pedroche. The show, which is already heating up with a provocative promo, will bring together a group of single islanders in a villa, all ready to find love.
“Love Island” is an original format by ITV Studios and Motion Content Group, produced by Boomerang TV for Atresmedia Televisión. The show returns to Neox, a leading thematic channel among young audiences, and will feature five episodes per week. It will also be available on the Atresplayer Premium platform, where exclusive content and an additional weekly programme will be broadcast. The show will also be available on Antena 3 Internacional and Atresplayer Premium Internacional outside Spain.
“Love Island” has been widely recognised for its international success, becoming one of the most talked-about formats in global television markets and achieving strong results in all countries where it has been adapted. Last season, the show achieved excellent audience figures among young viewers, exceeding a 5% share in this demographic. It was also one of the most in-demand titles on Atresplayer Premium last season.
In “Love Island,” the main goal is to find love. The islanders will face games, surprises, and challenges while living isolated in a luxury seaside villa. The only rule to avoid elimination is to always be coupled up.
Viewers will enjoy near-live broadcasting, as everything happening in the villa will be shown the following day on Neox and Atresplayer Premium. Audience voting will also play a key role through the official “Love Island” app, alongside a final cash prize the couples will compete for.
One of the main new features of this season is the “red button,” a tool available to islanders from day one. It can be used whenever a contestant finds it impossible to coexist with someone or wants to eliminate a romantic rival. Pressing the button triggers that person’s potential removal from the villa, but with a risk: the person who presses it is also put at risk. The audience will decide which of the two leaves the villa.
Other new elements include multiple arrivals of singles into the villa, group dating with multiple candidates, individual eliminations rather than only couples, and blind dates so islanders can choose based on factors beyond physical appearance.
