Presentation of 'FoQ: The New Generation'

• On February 3, FoQ: The New Generation was presented to the media with much of the cast in attendance.

• Coinciding with the series premiere, Neox will air the first three episodes of the iconic Física o Química, produced by Boomerang TV in 2008, on February 15 in prime time. All seasons are already available for free on the Atresplayer platform.

FoQ: The New Generation marks the return of Física o Química, the iconic Antena 3 series produced by Boomerang TV, created by Carlos Montero, and originally premiered in 2008.

The show became a major youth phenomenon and launched its stars—Úrsula Corberó, Maxi Iglesias, Javier Calvo, Andrea Duro, Angy Fernández, Adam Jezierski, among others—into fame.

Física o Química was a major success for Antena 3, redefining how youth series were made and perceived. It became one of Spain’s most internationally exported series, airing in countries such as Bulgaria, Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Portugal, and across Latin America.

Now, a new generation of students arrives on Atresplayer with fresh stories, new plotlines, and the same spirit that made the original series a cultural hit over a decade ago.

Press Conference: FoQ: The New Generation

The series stars Rocío Velayos, María Bernardeau, Biel Antón, Kiko Bena, Miguel Fernández, Esther Mejorada, Santiago Garzozi, Julia Camus, Carla Domínguez, Biel Castaño, and Rocky—all playing the new generation of students.

FoQ: The New Generation brings a fresh and aspirational tone, with bold storylines and new characters that reflect the reality faced by today’s youth. The series stays true to the essence of the original with a new cast portraying the students of Zurbarán.

Filming took place throughout the summer in various locations across the Canary Islands and the Madrid region. The series consists of eight 50-minute episodes and is produced by Buendía Estudios Canarias in collaboration with Boomerang TV and with the participation of Atresmedia TV.

Montse García serves as Director of Fiction at Atresmedia TV. Sonia Martínez and Carlos García Miranda are executive producers for Buendía Estudios Canarias, while Tedy Villalba is the executive director for Boomerang TV. Eugenio Pérez is BEC’s production director, and Diego Polo leads production management for the project. The series is directed by Juanma Pachón and Daniel Romero.

Carlos García Miranda is the series' creator and head writer, based on the original format by Carlos Montero. He leads a writing team that includes Alba Carballal, Diego Pinillos, María Miranda, and Alba Lucio.

What Is FoQ: The New Generation About?

Adolescence is the age of first times: first drunken nights, first petting parties, first "I love you"... and the first grief.

The new school year at Zurbarán begins under the shadow of a student’s death, prompting the parent-run cooperative now in charge of the school to make a decision: form a support group for the students.

Eleven very different teenagers end up sharing a space where they’ll clash—and ultimately learn about themselves and their desire to live. And to fall in love.

Meet the Characters of FoQ: The New Generation

MARÍA BERNARDEAU is CARLOTA
The most popular girl at Zurbarán. Everyone wants to be like her and date Pelayo, the most handsome boy at school. But her boyfriend isn’t as perfect as he seems. Carlota finds that out when she’s already pregnant. Now she must make a life-changing decision.

BIEL ANTÓN is PELAYO
Top of the class, charming, athletic—he seems to have it all. But beneath the perfect-boy façade lies a master manipulator. Losing Carlota forces him to realize he can become a better person.

KIKO BENA is KOLDO
More street-smart than most. His laid-back, bad-boy vibe hides a teenager struggling to figure out who he really is. His throuple relationship will help him discover it.

ROCÍO VELAYOS is ASIA
They call her the “bike slut,” but Asia is the best math student at Zurbarán. She’s fiercely loyal to those she loves, though she fears commitment. Her love story with Jon and Koldo will challenge that.

MIGUEL FERNÁNDEZ is JON
A graffiti genius and a repeater—not because he’s not smart, but because of family issues. He’s openly bisexual and struggles with Koldo’s shame about their relationship with Asia.

SANTIAGO GARZOZI is JEREMI
The new Ecuadorian student who’s a brilliant cook and always wears a smile—even when Bárbara friendzones him. Still, Jeremi doesn’t give up. Persistence pays off.

ROCKY is LELE
Lele has returned to school having transitioned. Not all classmates understand, but Lele is determined to defend their non-binary identity against anyone who dismisses it as a trend. Falling for Marina gives them strength.

ESTHER MEJORADA is IRIA
She’s never broken a rule in her life, but this year she’s ready to change that—parties, drinking, sex, all of it. Including falling in love.

BIEL CASTAÑO is DANI
Grieving his twin sister and reeling from his girlfriend coming out as a lesbian, Dani feels like happiness is out of reach. But new friendships—especially with Iria—may bring his spark back.

JULIA CAMUS is BÁRBARA
Convinced she’s not pretty and no one will ever like her. But she copes with acidic humor. She never expected to catch anyone’s eye—least of all the guy her best friend Iria likes. Nor to end up with so many new friends.

CARLA DOMÍNGUEZ is MARINA
The last thing Marina expected this school year was to realize she’s into girls—especially at the worst moment for Dani. But she can’t keep hiding. Falling in love with Lele helps her come out.
