Official poster and first images of “Rafaela y su loco mundo,” premiering on February 15 on Atresplayer

Surrealism and the most absurd humor arrive on Atresplayer with ‘Rafaela y su loco mundo’. The leading Spanish platform will premiere its new original series on February 15—one of the most anticipated shows of the season—which also unveils its official poster and first images ahead of its debut.

‘Rafaela y su loco mundo’ opens the doors to a new universe where the absurd and the delirious take center stage. The series is created by Aníbal Gómez and based on his own book, “El alucinante mundo de Rafaella Mozarella.” Aníbal Gómez, alongside Ernesto Sevilla, directs this irreverent comedy that blends pop aesthetics with “chanante”-style references, filmed in locations across Madrid.

The show features a lineup of top Spanish comedy talent: Ingrid García-Jonsson stars as Rafaela, joined by Carlos Areces, Aníbal Gómez, and Joaquín Reyes, who play her three closest friends. The cast is rounded out by Arturo Valls, Carmen Ruiz, Pepa Cortijo, Laura Weissmahr, and Luis Callejo. The series also includes episodic roles and cameos from Esty Quesada, David Verdaguer, Victoria Martín, La Terremoto de Alcorcón, Javier Botet, Antonio Pagudo, and Hidrogenesse, among others.

A surreal and offbeat comedy, the series explores Rafaela’s peculiar adolescence through wildly absurd humor, alongside her friends Corpus, Chelo, and Debo, and her poodle. Together, they will face situations that force them to grow up, with one clear mission: to save the world before their adolescence ends and they are forced to step into adult life.

Rafaela y su loco mundo’, consisting of eight standalone episodes of approximately 20 minutes each, is produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Estela Films, Pólvora Films, Boomerang TV, and Tenampa Films. The series will also be available internationally through the global version of Atresplayer.

Montse García, Arturo Valls, Félix Tusell Sánchez, Carmela Martínez Oliart, Bárbara Castellanos, and Jorge Pezzi serve as executive producers. The script is written by Aníbal Gómez, with Daniel del Casar as script analyst. Carmela Martínez Oliart is the production director, Enrique Silguero heads cinematography, Miguel Junquera and Bárbara Gil oversee art direction, Diana García Moreno is in charge of costume design, and Ángela Centeno leads makeup and hair.

About ‘Rafaela y su loco mundo

Rafaela is a teenager in a highly functional family made up of her dad, mom, grandmother, and herself. Her mother is a housewife who loves dressing up in costumes, her father is an inventor with a time machine, and her grandmother is, well… her grandmother. Alongside her friends Corpus, Chelo, and Debo, and her poodle, they will go through experiences that help them grow as a group, as individuals, and, in the case of the poodle, as a poodle.

Haunted mansions, sleepovers, and all kinds of eccentric adventures await as Rafaela navigates a series of dangers in her mission to save the world before her adolescence comes to an end and she must face adulthood.
