He will replace Pedro Ricote and Juan José Díaz, who have led the company for 25 years and turned it into one of Spain’s leading audiovisual production companies.
Paris/Madrid, March 29, 2023.
Jorge Pezzi will join Boomerang TV in April as Chief Executive Officer, with the aim of driving the expansion of its catalogue through innovative and ambitious projects and strengthening Mediawan’s position in the Spanish audiovisual market.
Pezzi founded LaCoproductora in 2018 and until now has served as its CEO. He combines managerial experience with strong creative skills in advertising, developing strategies and campaigns for major national and international brands. During his time leading LaCoproductora, Pezzi has also served as Executive Producer on major projects from the company, now part of the Prisa Group: the original Movistar+ format El cielo puede esperar, Palo y Astilla for La Sexta, Por H o por B for HBO, Dos años y un día for Atresmedia, and La reina del pueblo for Flooxer (Atresmedia). He has also led film projects such as Camera Café, La película (distributed by Warner), the documentary feature Viaje a alguna parte (distributed by A Contracorriente Films), and shows such as El condensador de fluzo for La 2 (RTVE), as well as the Spanish adaptation of NBCU’s format That’s My Jam for Movistar+.
“Thanks to Pedro Ricote and Juan José Díaz, Boomerang TV has reached its strategic positioning in a growing and increasingly competitive sector, becoming one of the most prominent production companies in the Spanish audiovisual market. Spain is a key territory for Mediawan, and with the arrival of Jorge Pezzi, we are delighted to open a new stage of creation and production of powerful, premium content,” say Elisabeth d’Arvieu, CEO of Mediawan Pictures, and Monica Galer, President of Mediawan Spain.
“We are proud of the entire Boomerang TV team. Without them, it would not have been possible to build such a solid structure in both fiction and entertainment content. Over the past 25 years, we have contributed to the development of the Spanish audiovisual industry and fostered its growth,” stated Pedro Ricote, founder of Boomerang TV, and Juan José Díaz.
“I will work hard to consolidate Boomerang TV’s position as a key leader in the Spanish market, creating new ambitious projects with international reach and a strong commitment to local talent. Promoting synergies within the Mediawan Group will also offer strong development opportunities. Thanks to Mediawan, we are a key competitive player and strategic partner for all creatives, which is the greatest asset to drive the company’s global growth,” confirms Jorge Pezzi.
