Mediawan appoints Ignacio Soto Pérez as CEO of Boomerang TV

Ignacio Soto Pérez has been appointed CEO of Boomerang TV, one of Spain’s leading audiovisual production companies and part of the Mediawan group. In his new role, he will report to Elisabeth d’Arvieu, Mediawan’s Group Chief Content Officer.

Soto brings extensive experience within the audiovisual ecosystem, with a strong track record across the media and content sectors. In television, he served for four years as Managing Director of the Cuatro and CNN+ channels, gaining in-depth insight into broadcaster operations. He subsequently developed his career in production as CEO of Vértice 360, overseeing multiple areas across the audiovisual value chain, and as Founder and CEO of Onza TV, where he drove the development and production of successful content while also establishing an international content distribution business. This experience enabled him to combine industrial business management with close collaboration with creative talent and intellectual property development.

More recently, he has held senior leadership roles managing large-scale media businesses in press (El País, AS, Cinco Días) and radio (Cadena SER, Los40, Dial and other music brands), driving content strategies, digital transformation and the development of new audiovisual formats, including video, podcasts and multi-platform content.
Commenting on his appointment, Ignacio said: “It is an honour to take on the leadership of Boomerang TV at this new stage. Boomerang TV has established itself as one of the key production companies in the audiovisual sector, thanks to a first-class team, its proven ability to develop successful content and the strong relationships it maintains with leading market operators. In this context, being part of Mediawan, with its international network of leading production companies and a top-tier global creative ecosystem, represents a unique opportunity to continue developing ambitious content.”

He added that he takes on “this challenge with the objective of driving the company’s growth, contributing to the development of the group and advancing the digital transformation of the business in an increasingly multi-platform and global environment.”

Elisabeth d’Arvieu commented: “We are delighted to welcome Ignacio Soto to Mediawan. His experience in television, production and business development, combined with his track record in digital transformation and innovation in the media sector, will be key to the future of Boomerang TV and to further strengthening the group’s development in Spain.”

Mediawan would also like to thank Jaime Ondarza for his contribution during his tenure as interim CEO of Boomerang TV, during which he supported the company through an important period of transition.
