Marta Torné, Esmeralda Moya and Raúl Mérida return to “Los Protegidos: A.D.N.”

ATRESplayer PREMIUM is already preparing the second season of “Los Protegidos: A.D.N.” after the success of the first episodes, a continuation of the hit Antena 3 series produced by Boomerang TV.

Marta Torné, Esmeralda Moya, and Raúl Mérida return to the characters they played in “Los Protegidos” as the main new additions to the storyline. Marta Torné plays Julia, Mario’s former love; Esmeralda Moya plays Claudia Ruano, the daughter of Rosa and Antonio; and Raúl Mérida plays Leo, Sandra and Culebra’s classmate during their teenage years.

Antonio Garrido, Ana Fernández, Luis Fernández, Mario Marzo, Daniel Avilés, Gracia Olayo, Óscar Ladoire, Maripaz Sagayo, Maggie García, Carlotta Cosials, Eduardo Lloveras, Cosette Silguero, and Javier Mendo will continue in the series in this second season.

“Los Protegidos: ADN” is a production of Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Boomerang TV and Buendía Estudios. Montse García, Sonia Martínez, Jorge Redondo, and Carlos García Miranda are the executive producers of the series, with scripts by Carlos García Miranda and Luis Gamboa, and direction by Pablo Guerrero and Daniel Romero. Teddy Villalba and Pepe Ripoll lead production management. The series will also be available outside Spain through ATRESplayer PREMIUM Internacional and Atreseries Internacional.

“Los Protegidos,” a landmark in science fiction television, aired from 2010 to 2012 on Antena 3, averaging more than 3 million viewers and launching its young cast to fame.

The story began with a group of people who pretend to be a family, the Castillos, with the aim of escaping from a strange organization that is hunting them called the Elephant Clan. The reason is none other than the supernatural powers of many of its members. Hidden as a real family, this group ended up caring for each other as if their fiction were real. However, over time, each of them went their separate way.

In “Los Protegidos: El regreso,” an original series aired last year on ATRESplayer PREMIUM, the Castillos’ story brought them back together and their lives became intertwined once again. After a tense encounter with Borja Ruano, Dora’s kidnapper, the siblings joined their powers in a final confrontation with their enemy. The family, united and stronger than ever, is experiencing one of its happiest moments. Now, Rosa Ruano, at the head of the new Elephant Clan, tries to help young people with powers control their potential and avoid taking the path of evil.
