¿Algo qué declarar?, a unique summer dating show hosted by Pablo Chiapella, arrives on La 1

RTVE Premieres ¿Algo que declarar?, a Bold New Summer Dating Show Hosted by Pablo Chiapella

RTVE is set to launch ¿Algo que declarar?, an innovative and daring summer dating show for prime time on La 1, hosted by comedian and actor Pablo Chiapella. In the program, participants will reveal their most personal and secret desires in their quest to find true love. Contestants will open their hearts and share their quirks with the goal of finding their perfect match.

“A different kind of dating show that adds a romantic touch to summer nights,” said María Eizaguirre, RTVE’s Director of Communication and Participation. “It’s a bold format where participants must reveal their secrets and come ready to open their hearts.”

Miriam Corrales, RTVE’s Director of Entertainment, added:
“It’s a fantastic summer program, filled with the imagery of airports, luggage, crews, and people eager to travel. Ultimately, the prize is a trip with your ideal partner. It’s entertainment, fun, and surprises, treated with humor, because looking for love can—and should—be fun.”

Raúl García, Director of Boomerang TV’s programming, explained: “The essence of the show, which has been produced in multiple countries, is that participants reveal past secrets that the seeker must accept. It’s about showing emotions, sharing stories, and allowing people to truly get to know each other. Diversity is key here—different genders, styles, backgrounds, and conditions—all are welcome to find love.”

The Format

¿Algo que declarar? is open to anyone seeking love, regardless of age, orientation, or past experiences, and highlights the diversity of sexual and gender identities in today’s society.

Participants arrive with suitcases of varying sizes, each hiding a personal secret. The larger the suitcase, the more significant the secret. Across multiple rounds, the secrets of three contenders are revealed, and the main participant chooses one. Once selected, the main participant’s secret, hidden in a large red suitcase, is revealed. If accepted by the chosen contender, the couple wins a trip together to get to know each other better.

Produced by RTVE in collaboration with Boomerang TV, the show is based on the globally successful format Baggage, licensed by NBCUniversal Formats, part of Universal International Studios. Versions of the format exist in the USA, UK, France, Mexico, Denmark, China, and Vietnam.
