Cristina Lasvignes takes over "El diario de Jorge", which will be renamed "El diario del verano"

Cristina Lasvignes returns to the television spotlight to lead the summer replacement of one of Telecinco’s most talked-about shows: El diario de Jorge. Over the summer, she will take over from Jorge Javier Vázquez as host of the format, which has established itself in the afternoon slot with a mix of real-life testimonies, emotion, and pure entertainment. In an exclusive interview with this outlet, Lasvignes shares how she received the offer, how she is approaching the challenge, and the nerves of returning to the studio.
“To be honest, I didn’t expect it at all. That didn’t stop me from being incredibly excited, but I have to admit it was a surprise,” the presenter says, recalling the call that changed her vacation plans. The offer came while she was on the other side of the world: “My God, I’m in Bali, it’s 10:00 PM, and I haven’t told anyone that I had taken part in castings for this show. The first thing I thought was: I have to call my parents.”
Although her excitement is clear, Cristina doesn’t hide the pressure she feels ahead of her debut. “I can’t wait for the first day to be over because it’s premiere day—the debut day, you know? The day with the most nerves,” she says. El diario del verano is set to premiere on July 21: “When people tell me ‘you start on the 21st,’ I jokingly tell some of them that it’s actually been pushed to August so they won’t see me in the first week,” she adds, hinting that even those closest to her can add pressure. “People you know put more pressure on you than strangers.”
With more than twenty years of experience, Cristina Lasvignes has been a prominent figure in both radio and television. However, she admits: “There’s one thing I’m sure about: I’m almost more nervous now than when I first started.”
That same self-demand also extends beyond the studio. Speaking about social media and audience reactions, Cristina is candid: “You see a lot of people saying ‘criticism doesn’t affect me, I’m above that’… It does affect me. It makes me nervous and puts pressure on me, so I only read it from time to time,” she acknowledges.
