"Castigo divino" premiered on February 10

“Castigo Divino” held its grand premiere on February 10 at Cines Fuencarral in Madrid, bringing together its entire cast and creative team for an evening filled with excitement, laughter, and a warm reception. Following its official presentation, the film will be released in theaters across Spain next Friday the 13th.

Directed by Pablo Guerrero and written by Andreu Casanova and Rubén Tejerina, the film features a standout cast led by Juan Dávila, alongside Lolita Flores, Natalia Rodríguez, Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, and Darío Paso. The production is led by Luis Santamaría and Tedy Villalba.

“Castigo Divino” is a heartfelt supernatural comedy that blends humor, emotion, and fantasy into a deeply human story. The film follows Pedro, a charismatic yet chaotic nurse marked by a difficult childhood and a past breakup that still haunts him. His life takes a radical turn when he meets Gael, a mysterious elderly woman who carries a golden box capable of granting extraordinary powers to those she deems “worthy.”

By accident—or perhaps inevitably—the box chooses Pedro and grants him surprising abilities: turning back time, moving objects, or teleporting with a simple gesture. However, the gift comes with strict rules: not to use the powers for personal gain, not to alter anyone’s health, and not to force love. Pedro breaks the first rule almost immediately, setting off a journey that is as chaotic as it is transformative.

Between crazy situations, magic and moments of Deep sensitivity —especially when he confronts the suffering of two hospitalized children who reconnect him with his own past—, Pedro will discover that miracles are not meant to fix everything, but to help others… and perhaps find a way to begin fixing himself.
