Raúl García has been appointed Executive Director of non fiction at Boomerang TV, replacing Encarna Pardo, who has been part of the company for over 26 years. Pardo led the Entertainment division and oversaw the executive production of numerous successful formats. In his new role, García will drive the company’s Non-Fiction strategy.
Raúl García brings extensive experience in the industry. He was part of Boomerang TV’s founding team in 1998 and, for eight years, served as the company’s Content Director. During that time, he was responsible for the creation, launch, and oversight of successful TV formats such as El Diario de Patricia and La Hora de la Verdad (Antena 3), Salsa Rosa (Telecinco), Préstame tu Vida (TVE), and Soy el que más sabe de TV del mundo (Cuatro), as well as over twenty programs for regional broadcasters.
As General Director of production company Mandarina (2006–2009), he launched various current affairs and celebrity programs, as well as the award-winning documentary Miguel Ángel Blanco: El día que me mataron, which received the Journalism Award from the Victims of Terrorism Foundation.
García began his television career in the mid-1990s at Antena 3, as part of Jesús Hermida’s team. After his time at Boomerang TV and Mandarina, he returned to Atresmedia in 2010 to lead an Internal Production Unit and format development. In 2012, he was tasked with designing, creating, and launching Hola TV, a joint project between ¡Hola! magazine and Atresmedia Group, which led to the creation of a cable channel for Latin America and the U.S., based in Miami. As VP of Original Production and Content, he established the network’s internal production department and launched a range of in-house shows.
Upon returning to Spain, he led ¡Hola! Media, the audiovisual division of Grupo ¡Hola! for the past ten years.
Raúl García holds a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s in Journalism and International Relations from the European Journalists Foundation (Paris), and a Master’s in Corporate Communication and Business Management from IE Business School in Madrid.
García, who now returns to Boomerang TV as Executive Director of non fiction, said:
"I return with great enthusiasm to what was my home for eight years. In this new chapter, I’ll be working actively to strengthen the Programming Division and elevate its role as a powerhouse of production across national, regional broadcasters and streaming platforms."
Jorge Pezzi, CEO of Boomerang TV, added:
"Raúl García’s return to Boomerang TV is excellent news for our entire team. He is a seasoned industry expert and, with his extensive experience, will spearhead major projects that will reinforce our position in the Spanish audiovisual market while enhancing synergies with other Mediawan Group production companies. Raúl succeeds Encarna Pardo, a distinguished professional who has been part of Boomerang TV for over 26 years and has done outstanding work in making our company a benchmark in the unscripted space. We wish Encarna all the best in her new professional journey."
