Boomerang TV is a finalist at the FICAL Awards with “Perdiendo el juicio” and “La Suerte”

The Almería International Film Festival (FICAL) is celebrating a new edition, taking place from November 14 to 23 in Almería, recognizing excellence in short films, feature films, television series, and audiovisual productions.

The festival awards highlight talent and quality across national productions in multiple categories, ranging from acting, directing, and writing to technical achievements, emerging talent, and works with strong human values.

Boomerang TV is participating this year with two of its productions. The series “Perdiendo el juicio,” produced for Atresmedia, is nominated for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Series (Elena Rivera).

In addition, the series “La Suerte” is competing in the categories of Best Comedy Series and Best Showrunner or Series Creator (Paco Plaza, Pablo Guerrero, Borja González Santaolalla, and Diana Rojo), highlighting the creative work behind the production.

About ‘Perdiendo el juicio’

Amanda Torres is a prestigious lawyer who suffers a severe OCD episode during an important trial. From that moment on, she becomes professionally ostracized and struggles to find work again, both because of that incident and because it is difficult for her to coexist with and manage her constant compulsions. She is forced to accept a job at a declining law firm far removed from her expectations, where she works alongside a group of struggling professionals very different from the elite lawyers she was used to dealing with.

At the same time, she must deal with her lingering feelings for her husband, whom she refuses to divorce, and the new attraction she begins to feel for her boss. All of this unfolds while she prepares the defense of her sister, who is involved in a mysterious murder case that took place on her wedding day and could lead to a life sentence.
