Atresplayer Begins Production on the Third Season of 'Los Protegidos' Titled 'Los Protegidos: Un nuevo poder'

Atresplayer is preparing the third season of 'Los Protegidos' under the title 'Los Protegidos: Un nuevo poder', bringing the Castillo family back together to face a new threat. Filming has already begun for the upcoming season, following the franchise’s consolidation as one of the audience’s most beloved series.

Returning cast members include Ana Fernández, Luis Fernández, Antonio Garrido, Mario Marzo, Daniel Avilés, and Maggie García as the Castillo family. The ensemble is rounded out by Gracia Olayo, Marta Torné, Emilio Buale, Raúl Mérida, José Sospedra, Carlotta Cosials, Cosette Silguero, and Javier Mendo, all reprising their roles.

New to the cast is Elena Furiase, who joins as a police officer leading the investigation that threatens the Castillo family.

In this third season, a mysterious new enemy puts the Castillo family’s stability at risk. Max, a young man with an unprecedented power in the series, wields an enchanted doll to wreak havoc across the city, while the family faces personal and interpersonal challenges that test their unity and bonds.

'Los Protegidos: Un nuevo poder' is produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Buendía Estudios and Boomerang TV. Executive producers include Montse García, Lucía Alonso-Allende, Diego del Pozo, Carlos García Miranda, Tomás Silberman, and Teddy Villalba. García Miranda leads the writing team, which also includes Sancho Sánchez and Arturo Ruiz Serrano. Direction is handled by Oriol Ferrer and Roberto Montalbo, with Daniel Alonso overseeing production management.

Originally aired from 2010 to 2012 on Antena 3, 'Los Protegidos' averaged over 3 million viewers and launched the careers of several young actors. The story began with a group of individuals posing as the Castillo family to escape a mysterious organization called the Elephant Clan, which pursued them due to their supernatural powers. What started as a ruse became a real bond, though time eventually led each member down different paths.

In 'Los Protegidos: El regreso', the family’s lives intertwined again, while 'Los Protegidos: A.D.N'. reunited the family for Sandra and Culebra’s wedding. The Castillos join the secret A.D.N. academy to control their powers while facing new threats, often needing to combine their abilities to overcome challenges, strengthening their family ties more than ever.
