Angie Cepeda reprises her iconic character and joins Los Protegidos: A New Power, an original series on Atresplayer.
Atresplayer is already preparing Los Protegidos: A New Power, the title for the new episodes of the third season of Los Protegidos, which has already begun filming after establishing itself as one of the most beloved franchises among viewers.
This new season will feature a special appearance by Angie Cepeda, who returns to the series’ universe to once again bring Jimena to life, a key character from the early installments. She acted as the “mother” of the Castillo family and had an intense relationship with Mario before stepping away following her daughter Blanca’s premonition.
Alongside Jimena, Blanca, her daughter, also returns, this time played by Elvira Lara. After years in hiding due to a vision predicting the death of the Castillo family if they stayed together, Blanca has learned to control her powers and will play a key role in helping the family save Christmas. Eduardo Espinilla also reprises his role as Hugo, Leo’s brother and a close friend of Lucas, with whom he shared a special connection.
Ana Fernández, Luis Fernández, Antonio Garrido, Mario Marzo, Daniel Avilés, and Maggie García return as the Castillo family. The cast is rounded out by Gracia Olayo, Marta Torné, Emilio Buale, Raúl Mérida, José Sospedra, Carlotta Cosials, Cosette Silguero, and Javier Mendo, who will continue in this new season.
In addition, Elena Furiase joins the cast this season, portraying the police officer leading the investigation surrounding the Castillo family. She is joined by Joan Solé, José Luis Alcobendas, Pablo Grifé, Alba Ribas, and Raúl Sanz.
In the third season of Los Protegidos: A New Power, an unusual enemy threatens the stability of the Castillo family. Max, a young man with a previously unseen power in the series, uses an enchanted doll to spread chaos throughout the city, while the protagonists face personal and family challenges that will test their unity and their bond as a group.
Los Protegidos: A New Power is a production by Atresmedia in collaboration with Buendía Estudios and Boomerang TV. Montse García, Lucía Alonso-Allende, Diego del Pozo, Carlos García Miranda, Tomás Silberman, and Teddy Villalba serve as executive producers. García Miranda leads the writing team, which includes Sancho Sánchez and Arturo Ruiz Serrano. The series is directed by Oriol Ferrer and Roberto Montalbo, with Daniel Alonso as head of production.

Airing from 2010 to 2012 on Antena 3, the series averaged more than 3 million viewers and launched several young actors to stardom.
The story began with a group of people posing as a family, the Castillos, in order to escape a mysterious organization known as the Elephant Clan, which was hunting them because many of them possessed supernatural powers. Hidden as a real family, this group eventually grew to love one another as if their fabricated bond were true. However, over time, each member went their separate way.
In Los Protegidos: The Return, their lives intertwined once again. In Los Protegidos: A.D.N., Sandra and Culebra’s wedding reunites the family. The Castillos join the secret A.D.N. academy to control their powers while facing new threats, even having to link their abilities to defeat them. The family, united and stronger than ever, experiences one of its most stable periods.
