“A Normal Family” is a series that combines the family and fantasy genres and has been adapted in Turkey and sold in Uruguay, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, China (except Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and South America.
The Mexican version of the drama stars well-known Mexican actors Sara Maldonado (“La Reina del Sur”) and Carlos Ferro (“Relaciones Peligrosas,” the US adaptation of “Física o Química”), along with some of the countries most promising young actors. The series follows a group of people who start to develop supernatural powers and pretend to be a “normal” family in hopes of going unnoticed.
The characters in this remake will be similar to those in the original version. Two single parents, Jimena (Sara Maldonado) and Mario (Carlos Ferro) are brought together by the search for their daughter and decide to form a fictional family (the García García family) so they can look after five minors with superpowers: Cobra (Jason Romo), endowed with the gift of invisibility; Sandra (Macarena García), who has the power of electricity; Carlos (Maximiliano Uribe), whose gift is telekinesis; Lucía (Paola Real), an orphan who can read other people’s thoughts; and Lucas (Erick Cañete), a teenager who has the ability to transform himself into other people. Now they must all live together like a real family, keeping their special powers secret as they try to learn to master them while trying to hide from their enemies.
Andrés Santamaría (“La Bandida”) is Executive Producer for the project directed by Charlie Gore (“El Torito”) and Bonnie Cartas (“Rosario Tijeras”).
